Nyack, NY - The Nyack College athletics department will honor a Spring senior every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the rest of the semester. All of our Spring seniors did not have the chance to celebrate senior day as many peers did before them. Therefore, we will take the time to highlight each senior individually to give them the send off they deserve. Some of them may move on to start their professional career, while other will come back to use the extra year of eligibility the NCAA has granted them.
First up, is baseball senior Jonathan Santiago. A native from Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, Jonathan joined the Warriors in 2016-17. Since then Santiago has appeared in 72 games in the Warriors jersey. During his time on the field Santiago totaled 27 hits, 12 runs, including four doubles, a tripple, and a home run.
The catcher posted a .957 fielding percentage with 92 putouts and 19 assists. Additionally, Santiago caught eight of the 18 runners that tried to steal against him behind the plate. We asked Jonathan a few questions about this season and his plans going forward.

I am seeking a career in marketing. A future goal of mine is to invest in commercial real estate.
What has been your favorite memory while being at Nyack?
My favorite memory while being at Nyack for me would have to be the camaraderie among all student-athletes. Being in an environment like that really made it a special experience.
Do you have any advice for your younger teammates or recruits that are looking at coming to Nyack?
Always work hard and respect the opportunities that we are given as student athletes.
