LAKELAND, FL - The Warrior's would travel to Southeastern University for the 5th game of their southern swing, taking home a 5-3 victory over the Fire.
Nyack would tack on a run in the 1st when Cole Tobin singled in Josh Brunvoll to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Nyack's offense would bring home across 2 more runs in the 6th when Nick McConnell came through with a 2-out double down the left field line to score both Brent James and Phil Erwin. The Fire would start off the 8th with back to back singles which led to a run from on an rbi groundout bringing the score to 3-1.
Southeastern would knot the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th forcing the game into extra frames. Larry Vidaurre would answer with a leadoff single and after advancing on a passed ball would come home on a sacrifice fly off the bat off Phil Erwin. Senior Eric Roe, would knock home Brent James from 3rd with an infield single to make the score 5-3 Nyack. Scott Murphy would come on in the bottom of the 10th to close the door on the fire, completing a 1-2-3 inning with 1 strikeout. Tony Campbell, received the win in the extra inning battle against Southeastern while starter Zack Kamerman finished the day with a line of 8 innings pitched, 1 run allowed, 4 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 6 in the Nyack victory.
