Pomona, NY - The men's baseball team and Chestnut Hill split a pair of CACC games on senior day this afternoon at Provident Bank Park. The split takes the Warriors overall record to 18-14 on the season and 10-3 in CACC play.
Nyack would add two runs in the bottom of the first, when John Kennedy scored on a wild pitch after beginning the Warrior frame with a triple to left center. Cole Tobin would drive in Nyack's 2nd run of the inning with an rbi double to make the score 2-0. RBI singles from Hilario Vidaurre and Tobin would bring in two more in the 2nd and make the score 4-0 Nyack aftter two innings of play. Dylan Schantz would add a two out, two rbi double an inning later to make the score 6-0 Nyack after 3 frames. Tobin would bring in the Warriors 7th run of the game with an opposite field home run into the right center stands, Tobin's 3rd blast of the season. RBI singles from Brent James, Kennedy, and Tobin would lead the Warriors to their eventual 13-2 victory.
Zack Kamerman picks up the win for Nyack, pitching 7 solid innings, allowing 1 earned while striking out 7. Tobin and Schantz would each collect 4 hits in game 1, with Tobin totaling 4 rbi. James, Eric Roe, and Kennedy would each post multi-hit efforts in game 1, with Kennedy also tallying 2 stolen bases.
Game 2 would be all Chestnut Hill as the Griffins posted a 5-spot in the opening frame and would keep Nyack at arm's length before pulling away to a 10-2 win. Ryan Kahl and Vidaurre would each collect two hits in game two.
Nyack returns to conference action Monday in an important CACC contest against Post University in Danbury, CT at 3 PM.
