LIU Post Outlasts Nyack 9-6

Lantana, FL - The men's baseball team put together their best hitting performance of a young 2016 season in a 9-6 loss to LIU Post.  

LIU Post would pull ahead to an early 3-0 lead after 3 innings, but Nyack would rally in the bottom of the 3rd and pull the score to a 3-2 deficit.  Christian Benitez would score on an errant throw after a successful double steal to make the score 3-1 and Ryan Kahl would single in the Warriors 2nd run with two outs in the inning.

LIU Post would answer with a 4-run 4th in the top of the inning to pull ahead 7-2, but Nyack would respond with a 4-run bottom half with an rbi single from Ruben Correa, and a 2-out bases clearing double off the bat of Ryan Kahl to make the score 7-6 LIU Post.

LIU Post would take advantage of several Warrior miscues in the 6th and add 2 runs to make the score 9-6.

The Warrior bats would be unable to close the 3 run deficit as LIU Post held on for the win.

Jack Hudak would tally 3 hits, and Kahl, Correa, and Hayden Allen would each total two hits a piece in the losing effort.  

Jean-Felix Proulx takes the loss, pitching 3.2 innings, allowing 5 earned and striking out 2.

Omar Celaya and Kyle Tedesco combined for 3 scoreless innings of relief, with Celaya striking out 6 batters in his two scoreless frames.

The Warriors will look to rebound this Thursday when they take on American International College at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
