Nyack, NY - The Nyack College men's baseball team won both games against the Dominican College Chargers in a non-conference doubleheader played at Nyack High School on Thuesday afternoon. Nyack improves to an overall record of 15-12.
Nyack got on the board first in the bottom of second inning, when Ryan Kahl scored after an error by the Charger defense. But Dominican would right away, scoring a run in the top of the third to tie the game.
Dillon Good started on the mount for the Warriors, pitching three innings, striking out two batters, while giving up two hits and one run. Noah German would seal the victory with four scoreless innings, striking out one batter and giving up one hit.
Game two saw the Chargers go ahead by one in the top of the third, but Nyack would answer right away with two runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. Ruben Correa's sacrifice fly allowed Gabriel Nunez to go home, while Yoni Rodriguez scored after a Dillon Good single to left field.
David DeGenaro started on the mount for the Warriors, pitching 3.1 innings, striking out four batters, while giving up three hits and one run. Juan Rodriguez took over for 1.2 innings, striking two batters and giving up one hit. Zachary Martirano closed out the game for Nyack striking out one batter to earn the save for the game.
Up next: Nyack will be back on Saturday, when they host the Bloomfield College Bears in a CACC doubleheader played at the Palisades Credit Union Park. First pitch is slated for 1:00pm.
