Baseball Splits with Philadelphia Rams on Senior Day

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College baseball team split with the Philadelphia University Rams in a CACC doubleheader played at the Palisades Credit Union Park on Thursday afternoon. The Warriors took the time in between games to thank their 2017 senior class for all their hard work and effort.

Game One

The Rams got on the socreboard first in the top of the fourth. Nyack would answer right away in the bottom of the fourth, when Jesse Barton scored off a Luke Kelly single.

But the Rams would jump back ahead in the thop of the fifth, when they scored off a single to left field. Again, the Warriors answered right away scoring a run of their own in the bottom of the fifth. Yoni Rodriguez scored after Carlos Pino grounded out to the Rams' shortstop.

The Rams would score two more times in the top of the sixth to earn a two-run lead, which ended up being enough to take the W in game one.

Game Two

Nyack came in hot into the second game scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Yoni Rodriguez scored off a Carlos Pino, before Ryan Kahl hit his fifth homerun of the year with Pino on base to earn a 3-0 lead for Nyack.

Philadelphia would score a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth, but great pitching by Jose Corrales and Omar Celaya helped the Warriors to hold off the Rams in the final two innings to close out the game with a score of 3-1.

Up next: The Warriors are back today, when they take on the Blommfield College Bears in a non-conference doubleheader played at 12pm and 3pm.
