The Nyack College baseball team was back on the field today to face the Assumption College Greyhounds for the second time in two days. This time the Greyhounds kepts the upper hand and took the W with a score of 4-2. With the loss the Warriors' record is now 3-2-1.
The Greyhounds scored a pair of runs each in the top of the third and the top of the 4th to jump to an early 4-0 lead. The Warriors got their first run in the bottom of the 4th when Carlos Pino scored after a Luke Kelly triple. Nyack would add another run in the bottom of the 6th when Austin Fischer scored after a Anthony Torreullas single. However, Nyack was unable to come up with another comeback effort and came up short against the Greyhounds on game day two.
Senior Jack Kelley impressed on the mount striking out nine batters in six pitched innings, while giving up six hits.
Nyack will be back tomorrow when they square off with Bentley at 12pm. The game will be played at Lake Brantley, Fl and will be the start of back to back action against the Falcons.
