Nyack, NY - The Warriors traveled to New Jersey for their last CACC doubleheader of the season. Nyack split with the Bloomfield College Bears with scores of 13-5 and 1-6. With the split the Warriors are now 24-22-1 and 17-15 in CACC play, which currently ranks them third in the CACC North Division.
Herman Alavarado started the game off with a homerun in the top of the first. Bloomfield answered in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 1-1. But the Warriors came right back when Alec Petterson scored off a Alvarado sacrifice fly. Bloomfield would tie the game again in the bottom of the 4th, 2-2. Nyack made a major push in the top of the 5th scoring 8 runs to jump to a 10-2 lead. Bloomfield got one back in the bottom of the 6th. Carlos Pino rounded up the scoring for the Warriors in game one with a home run in top of the 7th and Luke Kelly on base. Bloomfield scored twice in the bottom of the 7th and the game finished with a final score of 13-5. Chase Morries got his 7th win of the season on the mound for the Warriors striking out 8 batters.
It was all Bloomfield in game two scoring six runs over the span of the first five innings. Isaak Bustamante scored the lone Nyack run in game two after Gabriel Vazquez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The game ended with a final score of 6-1.
Up next: The Warriors will be back at home for their final regular season game against the Queens College Knights on Wednesday night. First pitch is slated for 7:00pm.
