Cary, N.C.- A Matthew Johnson single walk off in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted Nyack past Franklin Pierce in another non-conference match played in North Carolina.

  • Franklin Pierce jumped ahead by three in the top of the second inning hitting back to back doubles
  • but Nyack fought their way back into the game with three scored runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game up 
  • Quinton Pertkiewicz scored off a Gabriel Vasquez triple, followed Austin Fischer triple that sent Vasquez to home plate
  • Austin Fischer then used a pased ball by the Raven's catcher to tie the game at three
  • with the score tied the game went into extra innings, with Franklin Pierce scoring once in the top of the 10th
  • Nyack loaded up the bases in the bottom of the 10th and a walk forced by Herman Alvarado tied the game once again
  • next up was sophomore Matthew Johnson who drilled the ball down the field for a walk-off single to give Nyack their second win of the season
