Nyack, NY - Nyack College Warriors Baseball split with Caldwell University Cougars in a home field conference double header. The final score of the first game was 17-10 Caldwell and the score of the second game was 9-0 Warriors.
In the bottom of the first inning, Nyack was the first on the board when Matthew Johnson reached first base on an error by the third baseman helping Yoni Rodriguez score. Nyack was up 3-0 when Caldwell scored their first run on an error. Caldwell scored 16 more runs until the bottom of the eighth inning where Nyack came back on the board when Jeremiah Alonzo doubled to right center helping Armani Moore and Jonathan Santiago score. The Warriors managed to score five more runs ending the game in a hard loss 17-10.
The Warriors started the second game strong scoring four of their runs in only the first inning. The last run for the Warriors was a homeun hit by Yoni Rodriguez ending the game with a win 9-0.
Yoni Rodriguez was a highlight player in both games having 4 at bats, 3 hits and 2 runs in the first game; and 2 at bats, 1 hit, 2 RBIs, 2 walks and 2 runs, one of which was a homerun, in the second game.
Nyack College Warriors Baseball will face off with Jefferson University in a home conference double header tomorrow, Saturday March 30th at 3 and 6pm.
