Warriors Baseball Sweeps Bloomfield Bears

The Nyack College Warriors baseball team played in an away conference double against the Bloomfield College Bears where they won both games. The score of the first game was 15-5 and the score of the second game was 11-9.

Game 1: 

The Warriors started off strong scoring in the top of the first inning when Herman Alvarado doubled to right field bringing Austin Fischer home. This started a scoring streak for the Warriors, scoring 3 runs in the third inning and 5 runs in the 5th inning. The score was already 10-0 Warriors, when Bloomfield put themselves on the scoreboard with a single to center field RBI. In the bottom of the 9th inning the Bears scored two more runs but it wasn't enought o catch up, ending the game 13-5 Warriors.  

Game 2: 

The Warriors were the first on the scoreboard in the second inning when Alec Petterson tripled to left center bring David Gauthier home. In the third inning Gabriel Vasquez was hit by a pitch, he took the hit like a man and helped Herman Alvarado score. The Bears reached the scoreboard in the third inning with a double down the left field line. The Bears scored two more runs after that in the third inning tieing up the score 3-3. The Warriors continued to hit strong in the 4th, 5th, and 9th innings ending the game 11-9. 

Key Performances: 

Yoni Rodriguez was consistent today having a total of 8 at bats, 5 runs, and 5 hits between both games.

Up Next: 

The Warriors will face off against Goldey Beacom College at a home conference double header on Saturday April 6th at 12 and 3:30PM held at the Palisades Credit Union Park.
