Nyack Baseball Splits Against #1 Team in the North

The Nyack College Warriors Baseball team competed in a home conference double header against the Domincan College Chargers. Dominican is currently ranked #1 in the North part of the CACC conference. The final score of the first game was 14-0 Warriors and the final score of the second game was 11-3 Chargers. 

Game 1: 

The Warriors completely dominated the scoreboard upsetting Dominican. Scoring began in the second inning when Dave Gauthier singled to third base on a bunt bringing home Gabriel Vasquez. Yoni Rodriguz then grounded out to third base helping Dave Gauthier reach home. The Warriors scored seven of their total runs in only the 5th innning. In the seventh inning, Herman Alvarado doubled to center field bringing in 2 RBIs for his team. The last run scored for the game was in the 8th inning when Alec Peterson singled to third base and advanced to second on an error helping Brandon Rivera score. 

Game 2:

The Chargers started off strong scoring their first run in the first inning on a double to center field. The Warriors scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning when Austin Fischer grounded out to short stop, bringing home Yoni Rodriguez. The Chargers then scored eight of their total runs in the third inning, one of whcih was a homerun hit bringing in 3 RBIs. The Warriors then scored two more runs, one in the third and one in the fifth inning. The Chargers then scored the last two runs of the game in the sixth inning. 

Key Performances: 

Austin Fischer went 2 for 3 in hits, with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs.

The Nyack College Warriors Baseball will complete the series against Domincan College at an away double header on Thursday, April 25th at 3 and 6PM, held at the Palisades Credit Union Park.
