The Nyack College Warriors split against the Dominican College Chargers in an away double header. The score of the first game was 14-7 Warriors and the score of the second game was 13-5 Chargers.
Nyack started off strong scoring their first run in the first inning when Alec Peterson lined out to center field sacrificing bringing home Yoni Rodriguez. In the bottom of the first inning the Chargers scored three runs putting them ahead of Nyack. The Warriors came back in the second inning and scored four runs featuring hits by Yoni Rodriguez, Herman Alvarado and Alec Peterson, who earned 2 RBIs for his team. In the third inning the Chargers scored three runs, one of which was a homerun hit bringing in 2 RBIs. Nyack then dominated the scoreboard for the 4th and sixth innings, scoring five runs putting them four runs ahead of the Chargers. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Chargers hit a homerun. In the 9th inning, Nyack scored three of their final runs, one of which was a homerun hit by Austin Fischer bringing in 2 RBIs for his team.
The Chargers started off scoring in the second inning on a single to second base. In the third inning Yoni Rodriguez grounded out to short stop bringing home Dave Gauthier. The Chargers then scored 10 of their total runs in only the 5th inning. In the sixth inning, Matt Johnson homeruned to left field. The Chargers scored two more runs in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, Austin Fischer doubled to right field bringing home Chris Giaquinto. Matt Johnson then reached first on an error by short stop helping Austin Fischer and Jonathan Santiago score.
Austin Fischer was consistent throughout both games having a total of 6 at bats with 3 hits, 5 runs scored 3 RBis, and 4 walks.
The Warriors will play their last conference game of the season before play offs start in a home double header against USciences at 12 and 3:30PM held at the Palisades Credit Union Park.
