Nyack Baseball Kicked Off Their Season With a Non-Conference Doubleheader Against Millersville

The Nyack College baseball team kicked off the start of their 2020 season with a 7 inning double header against Millersville University, unfortunately losing both games. The score at the end of game 1 was 5-14 and the score at the end of game 2 was 0-13. 

Game 1: 

Nyack was the first to put themselves on the scoreboard scoring two runs in the second inning. Hansel Almanzar brought in the first run off a walk and Dylan Ahmad brought in the second run thanks to a single hit to right field by Brandon Rivera. Millersville dominated the scoreboard for the rest of the game and the Warriors were unable to score again until the seventh inning when Jonathan Santiago hit a homerun to left field scoring 3 RBIs. The bottom of the seventh inning was not played and Millersville took the win.

Game 2: 

Nyack was unable to put themselves on the scoreboard this game as the Millersville Pitchers dominated the mound. The opposing team started off strong scoring 3 runs in only the first inning. The Warriors only managed to have 2 hits total in this game. 

Key Performances: 

Jonathan Santiago and Brandon Rivera were key players in the first game bringing in 4 RBIs and 4 hits combined. 

Up Next: The Nyack College baseball team will kick off their season at home with a game against Queens College on Saturday, February 29th at 1:00PM. The game will be held at Nyack High School.
