Philadelphia, PA - The men's basketball team was defeated in conference action in a crossover game against CACC south foe University of Sciences.
Men's basketball would trail UScience 11-9 eight minutes into the contest, but USP would follow with a 6-0 run to take a 17-9 lead. Nyack would battle back over the next few minutes to tie the game at 20-20 with 8 minutes left in the half. The devils would finish the half with an 11-1 run to take a 10 point advantage into the break at 31-21.
USP would add to their lead early in the 2nd period of play and keep Nyack at arm's length for the remainder of the contest before taking the 74-53 win.
"I was pleased that our guys never stopped battling in the game. Will Robinson just got healthy and gave us some quality minutes off the bench while Khalid did a great job of drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line all night. Chris Hampton continues to rebound the ball well for us. We just have to keep striving to improve each day."
Nyack's top scorer on the afternoon would be Khalid Samuels with 24 points on 5-11 shooting from the floor. Chris Hampton would pull down a team high 4 rebounds and Will Robinson would total 7 points in his collegiate debut.
Nyack returns to action this Tuesday when they play host to cross-river rival Concordia College at 8 PM.
