Late Rally Falls Just Short for Men's Basketball
Nyack, NY - The men's basketball team saw a late rally vs. CACC South foe Philadelphia University fall just short earlier this afternoon by a score of 67-58.
Five minutes into play Nyack would trail 13-4, but the Warriors answered with a 9-6 run to shrink Philly U. lead to 19-13. Philadelphia would add to their lead before entering the break up 37-25.
Philadelphia U. would maintain their control of the contest for the first fifteen minutes of the 2nd half leading by as many as 19 points with just over 5 minutes to play. Trailing 60-41, the Warriors rallied with a 17-0 run to make the score 60-58 with just over two minutes to play. The Rams would foil the late Nyack push to win 67-58.
Tevin Evans would post a career best 16 pts followed by Khalid Samuels and Chris Hampton who each posted double figures in scoring in the losing effort. Miguel Martin also pulled down a team high 9 boards and Samuels also dished out a Nyack best 5 assists.
Nyack returns to action on Wednesday December 19th when they play host to Saint Thomas Aquinas College.
