Nyack, NY (November 23, 2013)
The Warriors men's basketball team battled Dominican College on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest as the Chargers came into the game undefeated in conference play.
Nyack's only lead would be in the first half and after trailing by as much as fifteen points during the 2nd period, a late comeback by the Warriors would not secure them a win as the Chargers walked away with the 67-63 victory at Bowman Gymnasium.
Nyack would get within two points with 00:44 left on the clock by way of a free throw by sophomore Will Robinson (65-63) who recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
In addition Khalid Samuels chipped in with 8 points while dishing out 4 assists and remains the warriors leading assist man thus far this season.
Leaders on the Chargers' side were Nick Smith with 17 points, A.J. Burton with 11 rebounds, and Joe Clinton with 9 assists.
Nyack outrebounded Dominican by a margin of 45-48 but struggled from the foul line only shooting 13-of-23 (56.5%).
Warriors take the court next Tuesday November 26th in an away match against local East Region opponents St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) from the East Coast Conference. Tip-off is slated for 7PM.
