NYACK, NY (December 21, 2013)
The Nyack men's basketball team concluded their non-conference 2013 game schedule this afternoon as they faced Northeast-10 (NE-10) Conference opponent, Saint Michael's College.
After a slow offensive start the Warriors charged back into the game utilizing a 13-3 run to head into the half down 46-41. Saint Michael's came out strong in the second half and opened up the lead to 57-44. The Warriors fought back again with 6-2 run to close the gap to 59-50 by the 14:11 mark. That would be as close as the Warriors would get as they were defeated 91-72. Saint Michael's improves to 9-2, while Nyack falls to 3-7 on the season.
Nyack junior guard Chris Hampton (Queens, NY) lead all scorers with 24 points in the second half and dished a game high 5 assists while snatching 2 steals, while his fellow classmate, Nick Moore (Sicklerville, NJ) recorded 19 points along with a game high 10 rebounds
James Cambronne led Saint Michael's with 18 points off 7-for-10 shooting including 2-for-3 from three-point range.
Although Nyack forced more Purple Knight Turnovers (11-8) Nyack would get out-shot by a margin of 57.1% (32-56) to 45.5% (30-66) and out-rebounded 42-24.
Men's Basketball (3-6) is off for the holiday break until Thursday January 2, 2014 when they host Caldwell College at 8pm in Bowman Gymnasium.
