NYACK, NY (January 11, 2014)
The Warrior men's basketball team battled No. 2 in the North Division, Bloomfield College, on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. Nyack put up a tough fight against the former (CACC) conference champions as the Deacons were able to walk away with the road victory, 81-50.
Nick Moore (Sicklerville, NJ) led all scorers with a double-double on the afternoon recording 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors. Moore shot 6-for-15 from the field while converting 3-of-6 from the free throw line.
Nyack's Khalid Samuels (Mt. Vernon, NY) and Bloomfield's Dondre Whitmore both split game-highs of 4 assists each for their respective teams on the day.
Although Nyack put forth aggressive effort out-rebounding their competitors by a margin on 42-37, Bloomfield shot 50.8 percent compared to the 32.8 percent recorded by the Warriors.
The Deacons (8-6, 6-1 CACC) were led by Steve Henderson who recorded a career best 30 points on 10-for-12 shooting from three-point range.
Warrior hoops (5-9, 3-5 CACC) take the court next Tuesday January 14th in an away match against Felician College. Tip-off is slated for 8PM.
