NYACK, NY – Behind a Warrior team-high 20 point effort from junior point guard Chris Hampton (Queens, NY) & double figure performances from classmates Nick Moore (Sicklerville, NJ) with 19 points and Isaiah Roberts (Pennsauken, NJ) with 18 points, the Nyack College men's basketball team would snatch their eighth win of the season on Saturday afternoon at Bowman Gymnasium. Georgian Court University, who missed opportunities to steal the win with under 00:10 left in regulation, drop to 0-13 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action while Nyack improves to 6-7 in league play.

Moore tied the game-high 7 rebounds with GCU's Jordan Wejnert as Wejnert tied game-high 3 steals with Warrior Hampton. Dante Agnew (Queens, NY) dished out a team-best 4 assists for the Nyack team along with classmates Ezra Gaines (Easton, PA) and Frank Martin (Miami, FL) who recorded 6 points each.
Georgian Court began the game with a 4-0 lead until Gaines opened the scoring for the Warriors going 2-for-2 at the line at 19:04 (4-2). The Warriors managed to take a 9-8 lead by 16:41 and eventually stretched the score to a ten point cushion (23-13). Over the next several minutes both teams battled back and forth until 2:09 where the Lions began a rally off four consecutive baskets that allowed GCU to trail by just two points at the half, 35-33.
The second half took a turn of four game ties beginning with Lion Keith Hughes who quickly tied the game 35-35 in the opening minutes. Shortly after, the Warriors fell behind by seven at 10:34 which gave GCU their largest lead on the night, 55-48. A lay-up by Roberts at 6:48 gave Nyack their first lead since the deficit (60-59) which sparked a 5-0 Warrior run as Nyack extended the score to reflect 67-61. Both teams continued to alternate leads with the contest being tied 69-69 at 3:28, 71-71 at 2:32, and at 1:32 Hughes tied the game for the final time after a made free throw for GCU. With 1:19 left in regulation Roberts took it to the hole and snuck in a lay-up to bring Nyack up 75-73. With under a minute to go Nyack fouled GCU. Wejnert shot 1-for-2 as the Lions trailed by just one (75-74). GCU called a timeout with ten seconds left and were unsuccessful with netting one final shot as Nyack walked away with the 75-74 victory.
