BOCA RATON, FL - The Nyack College men's basketball team used a series of runs to erase a 17-point deficit in the second half on Saturday night, but couldn't complete the comeback bid over the Fighting Knights.
Nyack would outscore Lynn 39-37 after trailing by 10 points going into the locker room break (34-24), but in the end the Warriors would drop their final day at the Embassy Suites Boca Raton Classic to Lynn University, 71-63.
Three Warriors recorded double figures on the evening. Chris Hampton (Queens, NY) led Nyack with a game-high 18 points coming off the bench while Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia, PA) tallied 15 points in twenty-three minutes of action. Nick Moore (Sicklerville, NJ) would also add 14 points with eleven coming from the second half alone.
Fighting Knight, Fred Landers led his team with 13 points on 1-of-3 from the field and shot flawlessly from the free-throw line converting 11-for-11. David Johnson would also net 13 points and along with tying a game-high seven rebounds with Aaron Harrison for Lynn.
Warrior Hoops (2-9) will be off for the holiday break until their next game on Saturday, January 3rd. Nyack will host Goldey-Beacom College at Bowman Gymnasium for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game as tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
