Men's Basketball Comes Up Short Against North Division Leaders Bloomfield

Bloomfield, NJ – The Men's Basketball team traveled to New Jersey tonight to compete against Bloomfield in a CACC match. Elijah Farley showed tremendous offensive effort as he led his team with a season high 18 points. That would not be enough as Bloomfield sealed the game 81-72.

Nyack seemed to fall behind in the first minutes of the game until Elijah Farley put them within a one point reach when his 3-point shot went through the basket. He went on to bank another one to add to his 6 points on the game. This put the Warriors up for the first time with 15 minutes left of the first half. The Warriors ran into a little foul trouble that Bloomfield took advantage of to put them two points ahead. Rashard Lewis regained the momentum for Nyack with his shot from behind the arc. Nyack continued to hold the lead with under 7 minutes remaining. Bloomfield would not let that shake their game as led 41-37 and a minute left on the clock. Deandre Osuigwe managed to put a 3-pointer right before the buzzer but that was not enough to tie the half. Instead they trail one point behind with the scoreboard reflecting 40-41 Bloomfield.

The Bears would not back down as they started the second half continuing to claw their way to the lead. It was not long before Elijah Farley made his 14th point on the night with another behind the arc shot. His basket allowed the Warriors to be within a one point reach from Bloomfield. Nyack continued to battle before running into foul trouble as the clock displayed 11:11. The Bears furthered their lead 62-53. Imran Ritchie helped to break the mold with his assist to teammate, Rashard Lewis, who would put up another 2 points on the board. When presented the opportunity, Elijah Farley went 2 for 2 on the free throw line which helped the Warriors to trail with only 4 points. With under five minutes left of the game, Imran Ritchie would go on to put two successful layups for the Warriors. However, that was not enough to give the victory to Nyack. Bloomfield sealed the game 81-72.

On February 8th, Nyack will host Holy Family University as they battle for another CACC win. Tip-off will begin at 3:00 pm.
