Men's Basketball Suffers First Loss of the New Year Against Holy Family on the Road

Nyack, NY. - The Nyack College men's basketball was back for their third game in 2019 and suffered its first loss of the year against the Holy Family University Tigers on the road.  

The Basics:
Final: Nyack 67, Holy Family 78
Records: NC (4-10, 3-3), HFU (7-6, 3-3)
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Game Summary:

  • the Tigers got off to the better start and jumped to an early 15-0 run in the first six minutes of the game
  • Holy Family carried that 15-point lead all the way into halftime with a score of 26-41
  • Nyack tried to fight their way back into the game and cut the Tigers lead down to eight with 13:31 left in the game
  • Nyack tried to make a final push to tie up the game but was kept at bay bu the Tigers who defended their lead and finished the game with a 11-point advantage 

Key Performances:
Freshman Joel Bailey led the Warriors with 14 points and 8 rebounds, while adding three steals, three assists and a block on the day.  

Up Next:
Nyack will be back on Wednesday when they square off with the Caldwell University Cougars on the road.
