Men's Basketball Thanks Five on Senior Day

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College men's basketball hosted the Caldwell University Cougars on senior day, which also marked the last ever Saturday game in Bowman Gym for the Warriors. Before the game head coach Valiant Jones took some time to thank the seniors Shawn Witherspoon, Calvin Willis, Gemaal Davis, and Cortez Rawls for their contributions to the Warriors program throughout their time on the hillside. The team also recognized the late Zahir Edwards who would have played in his senior year for Nyack in the 2018-19 season.

Game Summary:

  • Cladwell enjoyed the better start with a 13-5 run in the opening minutes of the half
  • the first half remained a low-scoring affair between both games with a total of 44 points scored in the first 20 minutes and a halftime score of Caldwell 16 Nyack 18
  • Nyack slowly chipped away on the Cougars lead and came within one with 14 minutes to go in the game
  • but Caldwell pulled away again and fend off the Warriors throughout the remainder of the game to take the win with a final score of 62-53

Key Performances:
Nyack was led by Gemaal Davis with 12 and Joel Bailey with ten points.

Nyack will be back on Monday to host the Chestnut Hill College Griffins in their last regular season home game of the season.
