The Warriors men's basketball team competed in an away non-conference game against Daemen College. The Warriors stayed consistent throughout the game but as Daemen picked up their pace in the second half, the Warriors consistency was not enough to secure the win.
In the first half of the game, both teams played a pretty even game with multiple tied scores and lead changes switching the possession back and forth. Both teams shot a 31.3% behind the arc, and was close in percentage from the field overall with Nyack at 36.4% and Daemen at 35.1%. The score at the end of the first half was 38 Nyack - 39 Daemen.
In the second half of the game, Daemen began to pick up their speed, gaining a lead on the Warriors. From the first half, Daemen increased their 3-point percentage to 50% as Nyack stayed steady at a similar percentage from the first game forcing them to play harder on defense. With the Warriors decreasing their free throw percentage significanly from the first half, they were unable to catch up to Daemen losing with a final score of 74-80. Overall, the Warriors had a strong defense game but lacked on their offense losing 16 points on turnovers.
Nyack's offense was led by Joel Bailey with a total of 12 points for the Warriors. Defensively, Junior Grahm led the team with two blocks and a team-high of four steals.
