Strong First Half not enough for Men's Basketball to Hold Off Dominican

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College men's basketball team hosted local rivals Dominican College Chargers for their first CACC match of the year. The Chargers came into the game undefeated with a 6-0, 1-0 CACC record.

Both teams put on a stellar performance throughout the first 20 minutes of the game. Action went back and forth with multiple lead changes and tied scores. Both teams shot around 50% from the field and three-point range. The Chargers held a small one-point margin at the end of the first period, 43-42

In the second half, the Chargers took off with the game, starting the half with a 20-0 run. The Warriors scored their first points of the second half at the 14th-minute mark. The Chargers continued their dominant shooting and extended their lead to 25 points, the largest lead of the day. The Warriors found their rhythm later in the second half and trimmed down the DC lead to 15 points, but the valiant effort came much too late to turn the game around.

Perris Hicks led the Warriors with 17 points.

Up next: The Warriors will be back on Wednesday to host the Caldwell University Cougars in another CACC matchup at 7:30 pm at Bowman Gym.
