The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in an away conference game against the Mercy College Mavericks. The Warriors tookt he lead early on in the game that was later challenged by the Mavericks in the second half. The Warriors managed to stay ahead pulling out the win with a final score of 74-68.
In the first half of the game, the Warriors started with momentum. Scoring began first with the Warriors on a layup by Jayden Dawson which was then follwoed by a shot from Mercy putting them on the scoreboard as well. The score kept tieing up for the first eight minutes of the half but then the Warriors took the lead. With ten minutes left in the game the Warriors found themselves fifteen points ahead of the Mavericks. The opposing team made several attempts to come back from the point deficit but was unable to bridge the gap totaling the score at 35-22 at the end of the half.
The second half of the game the Mavericks picked up their pace and increased their field precentage by eleven percent giving them the momentum to come back from a thirteen point deficit. The Warriors statyed relatively consistent between both halves which game them a slight edge over the Maverick's attempts to come back. At one point in the half, Mercy was only one point behind, but the Warriors managed to push ahead and take the lead yet again. Each attempt Mercy made to tie up the score, the Warriors would stop their efforts. Nyack's offense prevailed and the game ended with a final score of 74-68.
Overall, Nyack was 42.6% from the field, 28.6% from behind the arc, and 66.7% in free throws. Offensively, Junior Graham led the team with a total of 12 points scored. Defensively, Joel Bailey led the team with seven rebounds and three steals.
