The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in a home conference game tonight against Post University. Both teams went head to head evenly in the first half but in the second half Post began to pull ahead increasing their stats more than the Warriors resulting in a loss for Nyack with a final score of 66-77.
In the first half of the game, both teams were evenly macthed with a overall field statstic of 27.8% for Post and 28.6% for the Warriors. Nyack took the lead first and ealy on in the half. The most they were ahead was by six points. With seven minutes left, Post made a shot that put them only one point behind the Warriors and then the scored tied up at 19-19. From there both teams went head to head with several tied scores and traded possessions. At the end of the half, Post had gained the lead ending with a total score of 25-28.
In the second half of the game, the opposing team had increased their field percentage to 58.6% where as the Warriors increased theirs to only 38.7%. Joel Bailey started off the second half with a layup for the Warriors but Post came back to increase their score eventually taking the lead by ten points. The Warriors fought to bridge the point gap but fell further from tieing up the score. Being 20 points down, the Warriors pushed ahead and managed to come closer with a jump shot by Joel Bailey putting them only six points behind. With only one minute left, the Warriors were unable to put the ball away resulting in a loss for their record.
Overall, the Warriors were 33.3% from the field, 27.8% from behind the arc, and 58.6% in free throws. Joel Bailey led the team offensively with a total of 22 points. Defensively, Jayden Dawson led the team with 3 defensive rebounds, 2 blocks and 4 steals.
