The Nyack College men's basketball team faced off in a home conference game against Wilmington University. The Warriors were up at the end of the first half but lost their momentum in the second half. Although they fought for every point in the end, they were unable to secure the win for their record, losing with a final score of 86-82.
In the first half of the game, the Warriors took the lead early on in the game. With thirteen minutes left in the half, the Warriors found themselves ahead by ten points. Every attempt Wilimington made to try and bridge the gap, the Warriors followed close behind to make sure they couldn't. The Warriors held the ten point lead consistently throughout the half. It wasn't until there were four minutes left in the half when the opposing team finally caught up with a score of 35-36. Although the score was close at this point, the Warriors were able to continue pushing to make sure Wilmington couldn't take the lead. The score at the end of the first half was 45-48 with Nyack still ahead.
In the second half of the game, Wilimington tied up the score at 48-48 within the first thirty seconds and from there they took the lead. The Warriors continued to battle for every point making sure the ga of points didn't grow. They managed to keep themselves in the game trailing behind by only a few points. With five minutes left in the game, Thomas Nolan made a layup that tied up the game at 74-74. The next couple of points were stolen leads between both teams. The opposing team then found the upper hand when they made two layups in a row giving them just enough of a lead to make it to the end.
Overall, Nyack was 47.1% from the field, 30% from behind the arc, and 60% in free throws. Offensively, Jayden Dawson led the team with a total of 22 points and 3 offensive rebounds. Defensively, Kennith Ford led the team with 8 total rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal.
