The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in a home conference game today against USciences. In a game where the Warriors had the upper hand, they were able to sta consistent and secure the win with a final score of 85-74.
In the first half of the game, the Warriors found themselves in the lead within the first five minutes of the game with a score of 12-3. As the clock ran down, both teams continued to add to their scores, Nyack consistently holding the lead. With seven minutes left USciences manages to bridge the point gap and only be behind by one point. The opposing team didn't stay in this position long when Jayden Dawson made a three-point jump shot. The Warriors managed to hold the lead for the rest of the half totaling the score at 34-39. Despite the Warriors' statistics trailing behind USciences' numbers, the Warriors managed to come out on top at the half.
In the beginning of the second half of the game, the Warriors found themselves in the lead by ten points which they manage to keep steady throughout the entire game. Nyack increased their numbers which helped keep them consistent throughout this half and contributed to their win.
Overall, the Warriors were 47.1% from the field, 31.8% from behind the arc, and 77.8% in free throws. Offensively, Jayden Dawson led the team with 25 total points. Defensively, Joel Bailey led the team with 9 total rebounds and 4 steals.
