Men's Basketball Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive with Win over Concordia

The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in an away conference game against Concordia College. In a game that was evenly matched, both teams went head-to-head to find the upper hand. In the end, the Warriors were able to pull out the win with a final score of 74-61. 

In the first half of the game, there were several lead changes, traded possessions and tied scores. The Warriors never let the opposing team take the lead for too long and a large point gap was never created. Both teams stayed within two points of each other all throughout the half. At the end of the half, the Warriors were able to finish out on top with a total score of 33-31. 

In the second half of the game, the Warriors started off strong finally creating a bit of a point gap. Only three minutes into the half and the Warriors found themselves ten points ahead of Concordia. The Warriors managed to keep this lead all throughout the rest of the game. 

Overall, the Warriors were 46.8% in the field, 27.8% from behind the arc, and 78.6% in free throws. Offensively, Joel Bailey led the team with 17 total points scored. Defensively, Jayden Dawson led the team with 10 total rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals. 

Up Next: The Nyack College men's basketball team will compete in a home conference game against Post University on Saturday, February 22nd at 3:00PM. This game will bring awareness to mental health has well as honor Nyack's seniors in their last home game of the season.
