Men's Basketball Upsets Post University to Stay in the Playoff Hunt

The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in their last home game of the season against Post University. The Warriors honord their seniors Kennith Ford, Curtis Thompson, Jah-Meer McDuffie, and Junior Graham today for the time they spent playing at Nyack. Despite falling behind in the middle of the game, the Warriors were not going down without a fight. Nyack managed to come back and steal the win from Post by only two points finsihing with a final score of 70-68. 

In the first half of the game, the Warriors managed to keep up with Post. Five minutes into the game, the Warriors managed to take the lead which was quickly tied up by Post at 12-12. From there, Post began to inch ahead of Nyack. With six minutes left in the half, the Warriors found themselves down by ten points and every effort they made to catch up was followed by Post adding to their score. The half ended with a total score of 42-27. 

The second half of the game started with the Warriors at a disadvantage, but they wouldn't remain there for long. Nyack stayed relatively consistent in their numbers as Post's numbers began to fall. The Warriors found themselves all caught up and even in the lead with 12 minutes left and a layup by Joel Bailey. From there, both teams fought for the upper hand as there were several traded possessions and tied scores. With 15 seconds left, Post tied up the game at 68-68 but Nyack quickly followed with a layup by Senior, Junir Graham closing out the game with a win for the Warriors. 

Overall, the Warriors were 45.5% from the field, 33.3% from behind the arc, and 61.5% in free throws. Offensively and defensively Junior Graham led the team with 20 total points, 6 total rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 steals. Joel Bailey had the highest number of rebounds with 11 and also contirbuted 15 points to the score.
