The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in an away conference game against the Bloomfield College Bears. In a game where the Warriors dominated in the first half and then fell back in the second, Nyack managed to come out on top with a fight and a final score of 72-70.
In the first half of the game, the Warriors dominated Bloomfield. Nyack's field percentage was 53.1% as compared to Bloomfield's 36.1% which helped ht eWarriors get ahead early and sustain the lead throughout majority of the half. There were moments where Bloomfield managed ot bridge the point gap and create a small lead for themselves but Nyack quickly followed and stole the lead back. With eight minutes left in the game, the Warriors found themselves ahead by ten points creating a comfortable cushion bringing them into the second half. The score at the end of the first half totaled out at 46-33.
In the second half of the game, the Warrior's numbers dropped to a 29.6% in the field. Bloomfield had the upper hand in this half, but Nyack was not going down without a fight. Bloomfield made strides to bridge the point gap all throughout the first ten minutes of the half but with ten minutes left in the game Nyack was still ahead by ten points. It wasn't until there were 33 seconds left in the game that Bloomfiled managed to fully come back and tie up the score at 70-70. With one second left there was a foul made by Bloomfield which gave Nyack the opportunity to win on two free throws by Joel Bailey.
Overall, the Warriors were 42.4% from the field, 41.2% from behind the arc, and 83.3% in free throws. Joel Bailey had a double-double with 26 total points scored and ten total rebounds.
