Men's Basketball Playoff Hopes Come to an End with Loss to Dominican

The Nyack College men's basketball team competed in their last season game today against Dominican College. The Warriors put their all into this game but they were not able to secure the win losing with a final score of 82-65.

In the first half of the game, the Warriors fell behind early on. Dominican had the upper hand with a field percentage of 53.1% and a three pointer percentage of 35.7% as compared to Nyack's 34.5% in the field and 0% in three pointers. The opposing team managed to create a bit of a point gap and with five minutes left the Warriors found themselves down by ten points. The Warriors were unable to produce anything promising enought to catch up and the score at the end of the half was 23-41. 

In the second half of the game, the Warriors were able to increase their numbers but it wasn't enough to tie up the game. Within the first four minutes of the half, the Warriros found themselves down by twenty points. The Warriors fought to catch up from the point gap that was created in the first half but every attempt was followed by the opposing team adding to their score. With four minutes left the Warriors were still twenty points behind causing Dominican to secure the win for their record. 

Overall, the Warriors were 41.1% from the field, 36.4% from behind the arc and 71.4% in free throws. Offensively, Curtis Thompson led the team with 18 total points. Defensively, Joel Bailey led the team with 8 total rebounds and three steals. 

Up next: Nyack finished the season with one of the better records in their recent history. Their 9-10 CACC record and 14-13 overall record are the best since the 2004-05 season when Nyack finished 13-7 in conference and 20-13 overall.
