Manorville, NY - Our Warrior Golf Team won the 10th Annual Peter King Memorial . This event was hosted by Dowling College and played the Rock Hill Golf Club in Manorville, NY.  The Warrior finished first out of thirteen teams, including several higher ranked regional teams.

Inside The Tournament:
The Warriors completed the first round with a team score of 297. This ten stroke first round lead was sparked by a pair of one over 72's delivered by team captains, Matthew Yun (Flushing, NY) and Sean Lawrence (Monroe, NJ.) Due to inclement weather conditions, the second round of the event was limited to nine holes of competition. Alejandro Sanchez (Madrid, Spain) led day two team scoring with a one over 36. Sanchez, Yun and Lawrence placed in the tournament's top ten individual scoring. This is the team's first win of the 2014 Spring season and second since Fall 2013.

Words From Coach:
"This tournament was a breakthrough performance for our team. The first round was phenomenal. To shot a sub- three hundred team score in strong winds, chilly temps on a course that was just opening after a harsh winter --  amazing! The round spoke as much about the team's character as about our talent.  There were other good teams out there and none finished, on either day, closer than 10 strokes. To hold that lead in rains and wind that shorten the second round to only nine holes, only confirmed that the first day was more than luck." Coach miller continued on stating, "we still have challenges, but we are now beginning to see rewards for the early morning practices and hard individual work. It's encouraging as we prepare for the next tournament."
