NYACK, NY (September 11, 2013)
In the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match of the season, men's soccer would loose 2-0 to Concordia on Wednesday afternoon.
The Clippers improve to 1-1 with the win, while the Warriors slip to a record of 1-1-1.
Concordia jumped on the board in the 44th minute when Victor Ruiz scored the game's first goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. About two minutes later, Javiere Alvarez would assist a goal to Concordia's Ovan Oakley, who then raised the bar to 2-0.
Opportunities to capitalize were initiated on the Nyack end as the Warriors held a 19-18 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. The defense by the Clippers would eventually put the game out of reach as Concordia held the lead to result in the final game score.
Nyack (1-1-1, 0-1 CACC) will be back in action on Saturday as the team will visit University of the District of Columbia for a non-CACC matchup. Kickoff is slated for 1pm.
