LYNDHURST, NJ (September 24, 2013)
The Warriors' men's soccer team hit the road on Tuesday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match vs. Felician College at Lyndhurst Recreation.
Nyack was unable to find the back of the net as the team was shut out for the third time this season. The final score today reflects 0-2.
The first 28 minutes of play would be dead even between the two teams as both defenses stood strong to keep the match scoreless.
The Falcons would take a 0-1 lead in the 29th minute from a penalty kick goal. Shot opportunities were in favor of Felician as the ended the half with nine shots taken and six shots for Nyack.
In the 2nd half the Warriors would take five shots to have an opportunity at getting back into the match. However, three shots on net would be stopped by the Falcons' goaltender, as Daniel Wroblewski tallied five saves for the day while Warrior Tom Lohman went 3-5.
Midfielder Felix Horn led the match with 3 shots taken and 2 being on target for the Warriors. None were fortunate enough to fall through.
The second Felician goal was a header made at the 51st minute which secured the Falcons with what would be their first win of the 2013 season (1-4-1, 1-2-1 CACC).
Nyack (3-3-1, 1-2-0 CACC) now have four days off from competition in preperation for their next match. The men will travel to Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, September 28th for a 1pm kick-off.
