Warriors Shutout Bloomfield In CACC Action, 2-0

BLOOMFIELD, NJ (September 30, 2013)

Nyack would earn their third shutout of the season after defeating the Deacons 2-0 on Monday evening.

Coming back from a two game loosing streak last week, Toni Mutschler (Frankfurt Oder, Germany) and Marco Likos (Leipzig, Germany) work together to lift the Warrior team to an improved 4-4-1 overall record and a 2-2 CACC record.

In the 15th minute junior Mutschler tallied his second goal of the season after taking an assist from teammate Likos from a cross into the box. This gave Nyack an early 1-0 lead.

An insurance goal was added in the 27th minute of the first period by Likos, to end the half with a 2-0 advantage. The goal would mark Liko's second season goal as well.

The second half remained scoreless as the Lightning were unable to find the back of the net. GBC outshot Nyack 3-2 in the second half.

Warrior freshman, Tom Lohman (Berlin, Germany) would record his third career shutout for the Warriors after recording two saves in the game.

Men's soccer will return to Central Atlantic Collegeiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday when they travel to take on Philadelphia University. Kick-off is set for 2:30pm.
