NYACK, NY (October 9, 2013)
The Nyack College Warriors men's soccer team took a break from CACC play to face off agaqinst the undefeated LIU Post.
The lone goal scored by Alex Schmidt (Horburg-Masslau, Germany) was not enough for Nyack as the Pioneers came away with the 6-1 victory.
Within the first 25 minutes of play LIU Post scored twice to gain an early lead. Four minutes later they would tack on another goal. The pioneers netted their fourth and fifth goal of the half at the 31st and 32nd minute.
With about nine minutes left, graduate student Schmidt fired in one for the Warrior team off an assist from teammate Marco Likos (Leipzig, Germany). By the break Nyack ended the half down 5-1.
To begin the second half the Warriors were unable to come back as the Pioneers managed to score another goal to secure their eleventh win of the season.
Warrior goalkeeper, Tom Lohman (Berlin, Germany) recorded 3 saves while goalies Mathias Spinnars and Marco Jorgensen split 1 save a piece for the Pioneers.
Nyack (4-6-1, 2-4) play again at home on Saturday October 12th at 2:30pm in a conference match against Holy Family University.
