Men's Soccer Shuts Out Mercy 1-0 in Overtime

DOBBS FERRY, NY (October 15, 2013)

Men's soccer traveled to local opponents at Mercy College in a non-conference match.

For the second consecutive game the Nyack men's soccer team would shut out their opponent in overtime.

The Warriors' 1-0 victory over Mercy on Tuesday afternoon gives them a 6-6-1 record over the past thirteen games as sophomore Jakob Schwanitz (Rauen, Germany) quickly edged the game winning goal during the first minute of overtime.

This goal tallies Schwanitz's first goal of the season.

Nyack goalkeeper Tom Lohman (Berlin, Germany) added another shutout to his resume after recording 5 saves. The Mavericks held a 12-13 shot advantage in the game but both teams would tie 2-2 in corner kicks.

Men's soccer are on the road again this Saturday as they travel to PA to take on Chestnut Hill College at 3pm.
