Men's Soccer Kicks-off Season Opener to Bridgeport on the Road

The Nyack College Men's Soccer team began their campaign on Tuesday evening with a season opening loss to the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights with a final score of 3-0. 

How It Happened:
Warrior freshman keeper Wiktor Lasota (Lodz/Warsaw, Poland) led the team with five saves on the match. Senior Josh Schoch (Sparrowbush, New York) and newcomer Finn Reese (Hamburg, Germany) each led the team with two shots on the contest while Reese recorded the first shots of his career. Sophomore Jack Henley (Belper, England) would also add in a shot of his own.

UB jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the 20th minute of play by Najja Forbes, assisted by Purple Knight Erick Rmero. In the second half, Bridgeport would add two more strikes to top off their scoring with goals during the 48th and 65th minutes, as Feml Cocker and Luis Fajardo would seal the 3-0 win for the UB home squad.

Up Next:
Nyack returns home to Moseley Field on Saturday afternoon where the team will host Molloy College for a 3pm match to open its home slate of the season. The contest will be the first of three home events scheduled for the month of September.
