Men's Soccer suffers tough loss on the road

Nyack, NY - The Men's Soccer team traveled to Sparkill, NY to face the Spartans from St. Thomas Aquinas College in their second match-up of the season.

The two teams battled from the opening whistle, with neither giving way defensively. It was Francois Legoedec (Etreville, France) who opened the scoring for the Warriors at the 10 minute mark. During the dying minutes of first period the Spartans scored three times within 4 minutes to make the score 3:1 at halftime.

As the second period began, the Warriors stumbled defensively allowing the Spartans to score again just after eighteen minutes of play. However, the Warriors continued to fight their way back into the game, but could never manage to get on the scoreboard. After allowing the Spartans one more goal, the final buzzer sounded with the Warriors on the wrong end of the 5-1 score.

With the tough loss, the Warriors have a 1-1 record, while the Spartans improve to 2-0 overall.

The Warriors will host Stonehill College on Wednesday, September 7th. The game is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 pm.
