Overtime Strike Lifts Stonehill Past Men's Soccer, 2-1

Nyack, NY – A 1-1 tie was broken two minutes into the first period of overtime as the Stonehill College Skyhawks upended the Nyack College men's soccer team 2-1.

It was freshman Benjamin Wasem, who headed home a corner from junior midfielder Francois Legoedec in the 61st minute of the game. Stonehill scored the qualizer only 9 minutes later, when Adam Branco finished a cross from James O'Shea. It was James O'Shea who would also score the game-winner for the Skyhawks (2-1) two minutes into the first period of overtime.

In the effort, the Warriors (1-2) controlled a 16-11 advantage in shots while Stonehill picked up two more corners, 4-2. Junior Francois Legoedec notched two shots, putting both on target. Goalkeeper Wiktor Lasota made four saves while Stonehill goalkeeper Conor McDonough made five saves.

The Warriors return for their CACC opener this Saturday with a 2:30 pm match versus Goldey-Beacom.
