Rockville Centre, NY - The Nyack College Men's Soccer squad traveled to Molloy College for a non-conference matchup yesterday. The Warriors fell to the Lions after 90:00 minutes by a final score of 3-0.
Molloy tested the Warrior defense early on, hitting the crossbar in the 5th minute. The Lions continued to press forward. In the 27th minute Storm Glautier brought down a Molloy forward inside the box, resulting in a penalty and a red card for Glautier. Wiktor Lasota saved the penalty kick to keep the score 0-0. Lasota is now 7 for 7 in saved penalties throughout his collegiate career. Molloy College's Paul Morales opened the scoring for the Lions in the 33rd minute and it took the Lions only 60 seconds to add another one. Kyle Poetzsch scored in the 34th minute to give Molloy a 2-0 lead at halftime. The Lions outshot the Warriors 11-2 and Lasota recorded three saves in the first 45 minutes.
The Lions would add another goal only 4 minutes into the second half, when Poetzsch scored his second of the night. The game finished with a 7-21 disadvantage in shots for the Warriors, while Lasota recorded 5 saves over 90 minutes.
Men's soccer is scheduled to return back to the field on Saturday, September 17th at 2:30pm as they prepare to take on the Philadelphia University Rams in Philadelphia, PA for a conference matchup.
