Second Half Rally Not Enough for Warriors to Tame Wildcats

Nyack, NY- It was a great day in Nyack to host the Wildcats on Mosely Field. Back to back set piece goals were not match for the Warriors as they drop game to Wilmington (2-1). Storm Glautier scored the only Nyack goal of the game, adding two goals on the season. The Warriors fall (1-3) in the CACC and (3-4-1) overall in the season.

The Wildcats came off strong at the start of kick off with recording three unsuccessful shots before the Warriors could find themselves with a corner kick. Nyack's, Nicholas Scarfile, was unable to find his corner kick in the back of the net as a foul prevented it. Following that Storm Glautier would make his first shot attempt yet finding it wide. The battle to put a number on the scoreboard fell in the Wildcats favor as defender, Manuel Luque played a long ball over to Abdul Mansaray and giving him his first season goal. The Warriors found themselves in a (2-0) deficit as their clear attempt was blocked and then rebounded by the Wildcats, thus finding the ball through to the goal. Both teams contended back and forth before the half to keep the score at a (0-2) advantage for Wilmington.

The Warriors came out firing after a Wilmington foul gave them hope. Storm Glautier, of the Warriors, took out his defender and bent the ball back into the far corner of the post to read a (2-1) score. His second goal of the season would come right after kick off of the second half at 46:22. The remainder of second half was a battle for both sides. Wilmington recorded five corner kicks over Nyack's two. The Wildcats outshot the Warriors with seven attempts to the Warriors five. However, Alvaro Magel of Nyack had four amazing saves in the second half to stop the Wildcats from sinking any more goals in. The struggle to score another goal was hard for both teams as the game ended with a (2-1) Victory for the Wildcats.

Up next, the Warriors will host another CACC match against Dominican on Wednesday, September 27. Game begins at 4:00pm on Mosely Field.
