Philadelphia, PA- The Nyack College Men's soccer team traveled on the road to battle against Chestnut Hill College. Before the game, the Warriors currently sat with a (2-3) conference record as opposed to the Griffins conference record of (3-2). Nyack was in search of another CACC win to place them with a better standing. However, the Warriors came up short in a long game with the end score (1-3).

Right off of kick off in period one, the Griffins tested the Nyack Warriors Goalie, Alvaro Magel, who would make his first save of the game at 01:19 minutes. Nyack suffered three consecutive fouls after that and were defensively strong to force a wide kick on goal from Chestnut Hill. Samuel Viau, found himself a potential opportunity as the Warrior headed the ball too wide right. Immediately after, the Griffins found their way on to the Warriors side of the field with two shots saved by Nyack. The Warriros soon found themselves in an unfortunate position with the first score of the game belonging to the Grifiins. Chestnut Hill capitalized off of a header shot from Mike Buscemi to bring the (0-1) lead to them. As Nyack continued to struggle with making a goal themselves, Chestnut Hill added another goal to the scoreboard to lead the game with (0-2). However, the Warriors refused to give up with an answer back from Francois Legoedec. Finn Reese would send a cross over from the right side to allow Legoedec to find the back of the net. The first half finished with (1-2) Chestnut Hill.
The battle in the second period of the game seemed to be equal in the first 20 minutes of kick off. Chestnut Hill came firing strong like they did in the first half with two unsuccessful shots on Alvaro Magel of Nyack. The Warriors then came up with three shots, each from Francois Legoedec, Jack Henley, and Samuel Viau. Getting in on that action for the Warriors was Benjamin Wasem whom was blocked. The game progressed with the Warriors fighting to stay on the Griffins side before a shift in favor of Chestnut Hill, sealed the victory for them. Zachary Gray assisted his teammate, Miguel Marra, from a rebound to find the back of Nyack's net. His late goal ended with (1-3) win over the Warriors. Nyack falls tot he Griffins in a conference play and therefore bringing their CACC record to (2-4).
The end result of the game showed a Nyack's 16 attempt shots and 6 shots on goal compared to Chestnut Hill's 21 shot attempts and 10 shots on goal. Alvaro Magel, the Goalie for Nyack, ended with 3 saves in the first period and 4 saves in the second period to bring his total to 7 saves on the night.
Looking ahead, Nyack will host Caldwell in another CACC match on Tuesday, October 3rd. Kick off begins at 7:00pm at Nyack High School
