Albany, NY - The Nyack College men's soccer team continued their 2018 campaign with a road match against the College of St. Rose Golden Knights on Saturday night. The game ended with a final score of 1-4 and dropped the Warriors' record to 1-1 overall.
Nyack got off to the better start Mitchell Reed scored his first goal of the season. Reed was fed the ball from Daniel Larson and found the upper right corner for the Nyack lead. St. Rose tied the game only eight minutes later and added a second in the 35th minute to take the 2-1 lead which would also mark the halftime score. The Golden Knights found the momentum of the game when they scored twice in the first six minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach for Nyack. The Warriors tried to find their way back into the game but were unable to threaten the Golden Knights net in the remainder of the match.
St. Rose outshot the Warriors by a margin of 16-9, with a 8-2 on-goal difference. The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg in a non-conference match up at 7pm at Nyack High School.
