Nyack, NY - The Nyack College men's soccer team hosted the NYIT Bears on Wednesday night in a non-conference match at the Nyack High School. The game ended with a final score of 1-5 in favor of the Bears.
The Bears got on the scorebaord first in the second minute when Bernd Schlüter scored his first of three on the day. The Bears added another goal ten minutes later to go up by two. Junior Joshua Schliesing scored his first goal in the Warriors jersey in the 14th minute to bring Nyack back within one. But Schlüter scored agin with six minutes left in the half to restore their two-goal lead.
The Bears scored two more time in the second half in a match that eventually eneded with a final score of 1-5. With the loss the Warriors fall to 1-6 overall. The Warriors outshot the Bears on the day with a margin of 16-12 and was denied several times by the goal post or the Bears' goalkeeper.
Up next: The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Delaware to take on the Wilmington University Wildcats in a CACC matchup. Kick off is slated for 2:30pm.
