The Nyack College Men's Soccer team competed in a home conference game tonight against Concordia College. In a game that was played in the rain, the Warriors came out the gate with a strong offense securing the win with a final score of 5-1.
In the first half, Mitchell Reed found the back of the net within the first thirty seconds of the game putting Nyack on the scoreboard early on and giving them the advantage. Nyack continued to control the offense and their second goal was scored at a time of 13:15 by Javier Fernandez, assisted by Nicholas Plaja. Nyack managed to have three more shots on goal before they scored the third goal of the game at a time of 36:45 by Javier Fernandez putting the Wariors up 3-0 at half time.
The Warriors brought their momentum from the first half into the second and managed to get two shots on goal within the first five minutes and then secured a goal at a time of 51:06 by Aaron Duran. No more than three minutes later Concordia managed to get past Nyack's defense and take a shot that found the back of the net finally putting Concordia on the scoreboard. The Warriors came right back fighting and Aaron Duran scored their fifth and final goal no more than two minutes later. Conrcordia was unable to find the spark to come back from a four point deficit and fell to the Warriors.
