The Nyack College men's soccer team competed in a home conference game against nationally ranked #11 Wilmington University Wildcats. Today was the Warrior's Senior game where they honored players Ramon Brea, Benjamin Wasem, Aaron Duran, Lucas Honorio, Sherwyn Alexander, Joey Leveroni, Joshua Schliesing, and Nicolas Plaja on their time at Nyack and their final year playing college soccer.
In the first half of the game, Wilmington put themselves on the scoreboard early on in the game at a time of 7:05. The Wildcats offense proved efficient scoring on their first four shots on target in the first half. Nyack on the other hand created several chances of its own, including a Erwin Bendl's one-on-one with the Wildcats goalkeeper that was denied. The Warriors had six shots on goal, none of which were able to find the back of the net, ending the half with a score of 0-4 Wildcats.
In the second half of the game, the Wildcats came out of the gate fighting and managed to score a goal at 59:21 and another goal three minutes later, which was the last goal of the game for the Wildcats. Nyack decided to make way for a comeback by scoring their first goal of the game at a time of 62:33 on wide open shot straight into the high back left corner of the goal by Moritz Albrecht. About ten minutes later, the Warriors scored another goal by Lucas Honorio, which was kicked from the left side of the field, hit the top crossbar and landed in the far right corner of the goal. Unfortuantely, Nyack's two goals were not enough to catch up from the goal deficit and lost the game with a final score of 6-2.
